IWS ANNUAL MEETING - October 2008
The 2008 Annual meeting was held at the Union League with more than 65 guests in attendance. Highlights of a successful year were presented that included continued increases in patient base, new patients, and patient visits as well as documentation of the Society's solid financial condition.
The 2007 Champion for Children Award was presented to Indru Punwani, DDS, Head of Pediatric Dentistry at the University of Illinois at Chicago College of Dentistry. He was recognized for his long career and dedication to pediatric dentistry. Since 1970 the Infant Welfare Society of Chicago has incorporated pediatric dentistry into its primary care and is distinguished by the inclusion of orthodontic for our low-income children. At the Annual Meeting, Dr. Bernard Pawlowsi, our contractual orthodontist, was recognized for his twenty years of service to Infant Welfare.
The Employee of the Year was Nora Vela, a dental hygienist, who has also worked with Infant Welfare for twenty years.
