A Legacy of Caring . . .
The Auxiliary boasts an almost-century long tradition of providing support to the Infant Welfare Society. With 19 chapters and almost 1,000 members, it encompasses a broad geographic spectrum with a presence in the northern, southern and western suburbs as well as in the city itself.
Building on Tradition . . .
The Auxiliary’s dynamic membership supports the work of the Infant Welfare Society in a myriad of ways. Financially, our contributions are significant; in addition to designated donations, the Auxiliary contributes $1M annually to the Clinic. Our organization also provides significant community outreach through programs like Holiday Special Gifts that provides gifts for families in particular need. Our See Santa Party, a perennial favorite, is held the first Saturday in December. Each year, we host about 1,000 children who enjoy a visit and “photo op” with Santa, a gift bag filled with treats and refreshments.
This past year, we introduced our first-ever “Reading Round-up” a western themed party that provided new books for children at the Clinic. They also enjoyed pony rides, crafts, a magician, face painting and games. It was a wonderful day for a great cause -- to encourage a love of reading in our young patients.
Fundraising and "Friendraising" . . .
For the last 94 years, the Auxiliary has proven to be a good friend to the Infant Welfare Society. From barn dances to book reviews, golf opens to galas, fashion shows to showhouses, our Chapters create innovative, successful fundraisers in support of the Clinic’s work.
